Holidays Special Events

The Pinewood Derby is a special event that we celebrate at Adventure Montessori Learning annually.
Our next derby is coming up on Sunday, October 16th, from 11:00am-1:00pm. Mark your calendars!
Derby car kits are available for purchase at $6.00 a kit from the front desk. Events will be held on the basketball court behind the cafeteria. We encourage all boys and girls to work together with their parents to build their cool, fast cars! Family members and friends are invited to enjoy the final racing event.

Students will race first, and then we invite parents to race against our staff; Amanda, Stephanie, Kay, and Gladys. The winner will received a $500 credit on tuition for November!!

**For the event, we request the assistence of families for a couple of aspects of the races!**
*We will need 3 parent volunteers from Kindergarten and 3 from Elementary for the “Most Creative” competition.
Kindergarten parents will judge Elementary and Elementary Parents will judge Kindergarten for “Best Looking” car. Judges will receive a scoring sheet for judging purposes.
*We request a volunteer to be the announcer of the races.
*We also request a volunteer to keep track of the winners on the bracket board.
Schedule of Events:
11:00 – 11:30 Weigh-in/ Practice on track
11:30 – 12:30 Race Event
12:30-1:00 – Awards/ Pizza

There are two categories for which cars will be judged: the fastest car and the”Most Creative” car. Kindergarteners will compete with Kindergarteners and Elementary will complete within their grades.

Trophies will be given out; 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category, within each competing group. Participation ribbons will also be awarded.
